Located in northern Alabama, MaxVision® Rugged Portable Computers specializes in designing and producing rugged, portable computer workstations, servers, and displays. Founded in 1993, the company has a rich history of providing high-quality, durable computer equipment for all branches of the U.S. and allied military. At MaxVision®, we are dedicated to pushing the boundaries of technology, providing innovative solutions in an ever-evolving tactical landscape. We focus on designing computer hardware to meet the mission, with nearly half of our products initially designed for a specific customer before becoming a standard offering. Mechanical design, electronics design, and assembly of the product are all performed at our Madison, Alabama location.

Bruce Imsand

1993 Founder, Board Member, CEO & CTO; Prior to this, he held the role of VP of Engineering at a Fortune 500 company from 1977 to 1993. He earned a Master’s in Electrical Engineering from Auburn University and possesses extensive expertise in mechanical design, industrial design, project management, and general business, positioning him as a multifaceted leader in the industry.

Russell Barlow

Vice President of Product Support since 2018, he oversees customer support and product manufacturing. With over 20 years in IT product development, including owning an IT company from 2014 to 2018, he has extensive experience in the industry. He has implemented strategic initiatives to enhance customer experiences and streamline support processes.

Vice President of Engineering since 2024, he has led engineering teams in developing advanced hardware systems, from concept through production. His career spans small-scale manufacturing, systems integration, and innovative solutions for mission-critical technologies that support the U.S. warfighter and allied forces.

Sr. Design Engineer/Industrial Designer since 2001 in product and concept development, ergonomics, and manufacturability improvement. Previously a Product Development Consultant, he has held key roles as Engineering Manager at UFP Technologies and Senior Designer at Load King Mfg. He studied Industrial Design at Auburn University.

Eugene Richards

U.S. Army veteran and Senior Mechanical Designer since 2007, he combines a disciplined military background with expertise in precision aerospace fabrication and machining, honed since 1996. In addition to a degree in Machine Tool Technology, he is also a certified mentor and life coach. His mission-driven, goal-oriented philosophy significantly influences the innovative design of our products.

Marketing Director since 2023, she has over 20 years in the graphics and media industry. She received an Associate of Arts from the University of New Mexico. She has collaborated on several notable projects, including those that were nominated for Grammy Awards, showcasing her ability to contribute to high-caliber design initiatives.
